Emmy Magazine Scores Two First Place Wins at L.A. Press Club Awards

Emmy magazine contributors do well in first outing.

In its first entry into the Los Angeles Press Club Awards, emmy magazine contributors took home two first place wins and one second place award.  The winners were:

First-Place, Portrait Photo
Steve Schofield (photographer), Rose Cefalu (director of photography), Rich Bleiweiss (creative director)
“Louis C.K. In Socks”
Judge’s comment: "Humorous Shoeless Louis even gets laughs from a traditional portrait, which reflects his comedy.”

First-Place, Feature Photo
Mike Ruiz (photographer), Rose Cefalu (director of photography), Rich Bleiweiss (creative director)
“Empire’s Taraji P. Henson”
Judge’s comment: “The exciting multiple exposure of Henson along with the vivid red and black colors make this a most memorable winning photo.”
[editor’s note: dress was orange, not red; but we’re thrilled nonetheless!]

Second Place, Feature Photo
Maarten de Boer (photographer), Rose Cefalu (director of photography), Rich Bleiweiss (creative director)
“Anthony Anderson Plays the Game of Life.”

Photographer Miranda Penn Turin and writer Shawna Malcom  were also finalists in the competition.
