Lila Garrett was an American screenwriter, producer, director, and radio host.
Garrett specialized in comedy, writing for television shows such as My Favorite Martian, The Addams Family, Petticoat Junction, Bewitched, Maude, All in the Family, Baby…I’m Back!, and The Nanny.
She also co-wrote the Disney made-for-TV movie The Barefoot Executive (1971).
In 1972, Garrett received a Primetime Emmy nomination for Outstanding Writing Achievement in Variety or Music for her work on The Julie Andrews Hour. She is also a two-time Daytime Emmy winner for her contribution in writing The ABC Afternoon Playbreak.
Garrett died February 1, 2020, in Tarzana, California. She was 94.
